Christine is between two downstairs windows of the house in Stamford in which Josiah Wilson, Christine's paternal grandma's father, was resident in the 1871 Census - he is recorded as a "Boot Boy", aged 16, presumably a servant in the house of a clergyman in the town, chaplain to Browne's Hospital, almshouses, which still operate as what we might call "sheltered retirement accommodation". We know that Josiah is recorded in other Censuses as living in Wakerley, not far from Stamford. SEE NEXT PIC >
